EVENT DESCRIPTION

As IRS scrutiny of information reporting continues to increase, organizations must be prepared to navigate the growing complexities of Form 1099 compliance. In this timely and practical session, nationally recognized speaker and tax educator Jason Dinesen, known as "The 1099 Guy," provides a comprehensive look at today's 1099 reporting requirements and the compliance challenges businesses face.

Participants will explore the reporting rules for Forms 1099-NEC, 1099-MISC, and 1099-K, including payments made through third-party payment platforms such as PayPal and Venmo. The course will also cover critical topics such as Form W-9 solicitation procedures, backup withholding requirements, handling missing taxpayer identification numbers (TINs), responding to IRS CP-2100 notices, and avoiding costly penalties. Attendees will gain practical guidance on developing effective compliance procedures while preparing for anticipated changes under the One Big Beautiful Bill (OBBB) and evolving IRS electronic filing systems.

Designed for accountants, tax professionals, accounts payable personnel, and business owners, this session delivers actionable strategies to strengthen compliance, reduce risk, and confidently respond to IRS inquiries.
